You Are Me
by Beth Layne Poetry on Dec.12, 2009, under Uncategorized, love poem, love poetry
In every moment I see your smile -
You should be here with me;
I long to feel your gentle touch -
But I wonder now, will this be?
Connected across time and land -
To know your heart once again;
Your boundless soul knows mine -
But this time, will my heart win?
A fleeting thought I know is yours -
A song I hear, always in my mind;
I know you are thinking of me -
But, will my heart, you find?
I can see through time and space -
But, your love I cannot see;
I can feel what others feel inside -
Separate I cannot, for you are me.
As if looking in the mirror -
To see the other side I hide;
There I am inside your heart -
Where my love will forever abide.

Open Heart
by Beth Layne Poetry on Jun.04, 2009, under spiritual poem, spiritual poetry
Lost in the enchantment of every day -
Knowing something special will be there;
I could not wait for the morning sun -
Now, it seems, the light I cannot bear.
I pour my heart and give without thought -
While others keep theirs caged and guarded;
Why does that scare another being so?
A shame, it seems, to be tender hearted.
An open heart full of love and acceptance -
Games of mind, within me, are not found;
Why should the negative be the norm -
And so many people keep their hearts bound?
The way to the light is within us all -
Deep within our hearts, lives the Spirit;
Love has no fears, and knows them not -
We only have to listen to hear it.
